The Department of Medicine at Albany Medical College is proud of our longstanding tradition of academic excellence. Albany Medical College was founded in 1839 and is one of the oldest medical colleges in the United States. Albany Medical Center is a regional referral center, emphasizing highly complex, specialty-oriented care for a 25-county area with a population of more than two million adults. This large population provides an extraordinary breadth of pathology and care experiences for the training of Internal Medicine residents.
Our faculty strive every day to accomplish these missions. Our program provides an ideal atmosphere which blends clinical and academic excellence with delivery of sophisticated patient care. We all encourage and assist our residents in attaining their individual goals and take a personal interest in maximizing each resident’s learning experience.
