Schaffer Library of Health Sciences
The Library's mission is to acquire, organize, and facilitate access to knowledge-based biomedical information resources that enable AMC students, faculty, physicians, and other health care providers to advance their education, research, or patient care activities at the Albany Medical Center. Library faculty and staff teach and promote the use and application of information resources and tools and provide services that encourage excellence in academic and clinical disciplines.
The Library is a five-floor structure housing over 150,000 volumes and more than 2,700 journal titles, including a significant number of online subscriptions, databases, journals, books, and media programs. Document delivery services supplement the Library's collection. Computing resources are available on the first and fifth floors.
Located between the Medical Science and Medical Education buildings, the Schaffer Library is centrally located for easy access. Remote access technology enables use of the Library electronic collection from off-campus locations.
