Students begin their year with a week-long Introduction to Medicine course focused on professionalism, culture of medicine, self-care, service learning, clinical skills, and other topics.

Foundations of Medical Science blocks consist of six integrated organ-based scientific blocks including pathology, pharmacology, imaging, oncology, infectious disease, nutrition, and global climate change and health across 18 months. These blocks are concomitant with courses in clinical skills, ethics, evidence-based health care, and the introductory longitudinal clerkship.
