The Bioskills Lab at Albany Medical College

The Bioskills Lab gives students and medical professionals at Albany Medical College and Albany Medical Center the opportunity to learn and practice surgical techniques on cadavers in a controlled yet realistic surgical setting.

The lab is made possible by the college's Anatomical Gift Program, which was established in the 1960s as a way for individuals to donate their bodies to science upon death.

The lab is also available to medical industry representatives to demonstrate and train healthcare professionals in leading edge medical technologies and procedures. The lab provides 150-180 educational sessions per year.

Information on contacting the lab can be found below.

Dr. Michael Smith
We have the most active anatomical gift program in the state of New York. Because of the generosity of our community, that allows us to provide these educational opportunities that a lot of institutions aren't able to provide.”
