A movable mural designed as a visual representation to fight the stigma and raise awareness of some stories of homelessness was mounted earlier today on the brick facing of our Physicians Pavilion building. The “Shared Connections” mural is the result of a collaborative project between our medical students, Albany Center Gallery (ACG), local artist Jade Warrick, Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless (IPH), and Family Promise of the Capital Region. The three-panel mural will be on display for approximately the next month and will eventually travel to IPH and Family Promise in the coming months. The project was led by second-year medical college student Andrew Kwok, co-leader of Empowering Arts, a program at the College that serves the community through artistic expression and community building projects. Daniel North, DO Quote
In medical school, I learned to look beyond a diagnosis to see each patient as a unique individual. This is a philosophy that I will carry with me throughout my career. I am proud to be a family medicine physician and look forward to helping patients, families and the community.”
