Colon & Rectal Surgery Fellowship

The Colon and Rectal Surgical Fellowship provides comprehensive education and training in all aspects of colon and rectal surgery.

Welcome to Albany Medical College

The Colon and Rectal Surgical Fellowship provides comprehensive education and training in all aspects of colon and rectal surgery. The fellowship, based at Albany Medical Center, is northeastern New York’s only academic health sciences center and a 766-bed tertiary care hospital. The fellowship is an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-approved program that prepares the fellow for certification by The American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. The one-year fellowship encompasses the full breadth of colon and rectal surgery, including inpatient care, outpatient evaluation and management, endoscopy, and surgical management.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the fellow is expected to participate in educating general surgery residents, medical students and other health care professionals. The fellow also participates in ongoing clinical research projects within the division of colon and rectal surgery. We welcome any questions you have about our program and encourage you to read about our curriculum, faculty and fellows to learn more.

Sincerely,

Brian T. Valerian, MD
