Welcome
Welcome to Albany Medical College’s Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship Program. Our two-year program provides training leading to eligibility for certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Albany Medical Center has one of the top cardiac surgery programs in the nation. Our cardiac surgeons perform a wide range of cardiac procedures on patients of all ages. We have led the way in heart care for decades and have performed many of our region's first heart procedures. These include the first heart transplant and the first open heart surgery on an infant.
Albany Medical Center cares for more cardiology patients, performs more cardiovascular and vascular surgeries, and has a larger coronary care unit than any other hospital in the Capital Region. In fact, many cardiothoracic surgeons and other specialists throughout our region have trained at Albany Medical Center.
With the combined expertise of the multidisciplinary specialists throughout our institution, I am confident that Albany Medical Center provides the same level of care that can be found at any of the top centers throughout the country.
