Fellowship-Trained General Surgeon Joins Staff
ALBANY, N.Y., Jan 28, 2014 — Marcel Tafen, M.D., has joined Albany Medical Center’s Department of Surgery and has been appointed assistant professor of surgery at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Tafen has special expertise in trauma, critical care and acute care surgery. His special areas of interest include thoracic, trauma and rib plating surgery, a newer procedure to repair severely fractured ribs.
Dr. Tafen completed his fellowship training in trauma and surgical critical care at The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center after serving his residency at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Tafen, whose full name is Marcel Kleber Tafen Wandji, joins an elite surgical team that uses the latest technology and techniques to provide the most comprehensive care in the region.
