Specimen Collection: 3 mL blood (red top tube).
Transport immediately. Must be received in lab within 2 hours of draw. 
Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL 
Handling Instructions for Offsite Areas: Within 2 hrs of draw time, the serum must be centrifuged and an ultrafiltrate prepared as follows: Allow specimen to clot, centrifuge for 20 minutes, remove serum and fill micropartition reservoir (thin top part) with 1-1.2 mL of serum. Cap the reservoir and place the apparatus in a centrifuge for 15-20 minutes at 3500 rpm. The ultrafiltrate will enter the cup portion of the apparatus. Remove the top reservoir. Cap the cup containing ultrafiltrate. Cap securely. Place the cup in a 16 x 100 mm test tube which is properly labeled and refrigerate. A minimum of 100 ┬Ál of ultrafiltrate is needed for the assay. If insufficient volume is generated, a second apparatus can be filled with serum and spun. The ultrafiltrate can then be combined.
