Dr. Gary Bernardini is the Director of Stroke and Neurocritical Care at Albany Medical Center. What makes Dr. Bernardini unique is his advanced training and active involvement in national stroke organizations, like the Neurocritical Care Society and the American Stroke Association.
As principal investigator in multiple clinical trials for subarachnoid and intracerebral hemorrhage and ischemic stroke, he has the knowledge and experience to offer patients an accurate diagnosis and detailed treatment plan.
Dr. Bernardini and the multidisciplinary acute stroke team ensure that every stroke patient receives the best treatment options available and has a complete evaluation for primary and secondary prevention of stroke. He works in conjunction with a skilled neuroendovascular team in delivering intra-arterial thrombolytics, thrombectomy devices including MERCI and Penumbra, and intra-aortic devices for the treatment of stroke.
