Nurse Practitioner Specializing in Urogynecology Care Joins Albany Med
ALBANY, N.Y., April 10, 2012óJeanne Ann Dahl, R.N.C., W.H.N.P., has joined Obstetrics and Gynecology at Albany Medical Center where she will focus on urogynecology, including nonsurgical approaches to the treatment of incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and bladder disorders among many other conditions. She also treats patients with sexual health issues.
Dahl will support David Kimble, M.D., a specialist in urogynecology whose work is dedicated to the treatment of pelvic floor disorders and incontinence in women. Dr. Kimble provides a full range of treatments and specializes in the use of the da Vinci robot to perform minimally invasive surgery to repair pelvic organ prolapses, which is only available in this region at Albany Med.
With her vast knowledge and experience, Dahl’s addition to the division of urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery makes the program one of the most comprehensive in the Northeast. With more than 25 years of experience as a women’s health nurse practitioner in the Capital Region, Dahl has spent 10 years of her practice focusing on urogynecology. During that time, she developed and implemented a pelvic floor rehabilitation program that included biofeedback and electrical stimulation therapy. Additionally, she has experience in performing percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation for the treatment of overactive bladder, urodynamics testing to diagnose lower urinary tract problems, and urogynecology research.
Dahl is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society, the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates, the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health and the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State.
