Dr. Elizabeth Dufort Joins Department of Pediatric Infectious Disease
ALBANY, N.Y., March 4, 2011—Elizabeth Dufort, M.D., an expert in pediatric infectious disease, joins Albany Medical Center Children’s Hospital. She has also been appointed clinical assistant professor at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Dufort received her medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine in Buffalo. She then completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at New York University and Bellevue Hospital, followed by a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases from Alpert Medical School of Brown University/ Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.
Previously, Dr. Dufort has served as assistant professor of pediatrics in the division of pediatric infectious diseases at Alpert Medical School of Brown University as well as attending physician in Hasbro Children’s Hospital/ Rhode Island Hospital. Simultaneously, she worked consulting staff in the department of pediatrics at the Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Dufort is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. She is an expert in pediatric infectious diseases, and specializes in pediatric HIV medicine. She also has a special interest in pediatric global health and global health medical education.
