Colorectal Surgeon A. David Chismark Joins Staff

ALBANY, N.Y., September 10, 2012-A. David Chismark, M.D., has joined the division of colorectal surgery at Albany Medical Center, and has been appointed assistant professor of surgery at Albany Medical College.

In addition to seeing patients at the Surgeons Pavilion at Albany Med, 50 New Scotland Avenue, Dr. Chismark also will see patients at Albany Med's Multispecialty Office on Rte. 146 in Clifton Park.

Board certified in colon and rectal surgery and general surgery, Dr. Chismark performs both traditional and minimally invasive colon and rectal resection, surgical treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and colonoscopy.  He also evaluates and treats the full spectrum of anorectal disease, including rectal bleeding, hemorrhoids, perianal infections, anal fissure, fecal incontinence and constipation.

Dr. Chismark previously was employed by Core Physicians, LLC, in Exeter, NH. He completed his fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center/Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando, and completed his residency training at Albany Medical Center, where he served as chief resident in general surgery. He received his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. Dr. Chismark is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

He resides in Slingerlands with his wife and three children.
