Schenectady Physicians Practice Joins Albany Med Faculty Physicians Group

ALBANY, N.Y., July 23, 2014 - Albany Medical Center today announced that Digestive Disease Associates of Schenectady has joined the Albany Med Faculty Physicians Group. It is the first physician practice based in Schenectady County to join Albany Medical Center as part of a strategy to facilitate access to Albany Med expertise at convenient locations throughout the region.
The new Albany Med Community Division of Gastroenterology will continue to treat patients in its current location at 2147 Eastern Parkway in Schenectady and in satellite offices in Guilderland and Clifton Park. Its physicians will continue to perform inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services at Ellis Hospital and gastroenterological consultative services at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital.

The Albany Med Faculty Physicians Group is comprised of nearly 500 physicians practicing the full spectrum of medical and surgical specialties. In addition to treating patients at the main site in Albany, Albany Med providers also treat patients at more than 20 community-based locations throughout the region, including Clifton Park, Latham, Malta, North Greenbush, Saratoga, Glens Falls, Delmar and others. Patients also can receive urgent care at the Malta Med facility, operated jointly with Saratoga Hospital, and EmUrgentCare facilities in Greene and Ulster counties and, as of August 1, in Glenville.
