Record-Setting Radiothon Raises More Than $600,000 for Children's Hospital

ALBANY, N.Y., May 6, 2013-The 2013 Cares for Kids Radiothon to benefit the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center was another record-setter. The two-day event surpassed the $600,000 mark for the first time raising a total of $626,172, an increase of more than 10 percent from 2012.
The 15th annual Radiothon aired May 2-3 on News Talk 810 and 103.1 WGY and 99.5 The River.
"Once again members of our community have shown how much they value the Children's Hospital at Albany Med," said David A. Clark, M.D., director of the Children's Hospital. "We are so thankful for their generosity as well as the continued support of our media partners at WGY and The River. Their combined efforts will help the Children's Hospital continue to offer vital services that, in many cases, are unique to our region."

The Radiothon involved more than 120 volunteers and was presented by Price Chopper, Freihofer's and Keeler Motor Car.
The Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center is a 125-bed facility devoted exclusively to the medical needs of infants, children and adolescents, and is the referral center for all seriously ill and injured children from 25 counties in upstate New York and western New England. It is staffed by 110 physicians trained in 34 subspecialties and more than 300 pediatric nurses, therapists, social workers and child-life specialists.
