Empowerment Focus of American Medical Women's Association Conference

ALBANY, N.Y., Jan. 10, 2014 - The Albany Medical College chapter of the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) will host a conference on empowering future leaders of medicine Jan. 10-11.
Panel discussions will address the evolving role of women in medicine, CV building, transitioning into residency, social media and medicine, and clinical skills.
The event begins Friday, Jan. 10 with registration and a dinner reception at the Hilton Garden Inn Albany Medical Center, followed by a full-day of presentations Saturday, Jan. 11 in Albany Med's Huyck Auditorium and MS conference rooms.
Keynote speaker Eleni Tousimis, M.D., '96, will discuss her journey to becoming the chief of Breast Surgery at MedStar Georgetown Hospital and president of the AMWA. Elizabeth Higgins, M.D., associate dean of medical education at Albany Medical College, will present an interactive lecture on developing tangible leadership skills.
