Melodies of Christmas

Once again, the Capital Region has shown tremendous support for the Melodies of Christmas and the Melodies Center at Albany Med.

The combination of helping the children of Albany Med's Melodies Center and the wonderful sounds of the Empire State Youth Orchestra and Chorale created another hugely successful Melodies of Christmas. Thank you for your support!

Thanks to our founders, the Freihofer's Baking Company, Price Chopper and CBS 6, huge crowds packed Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady to enjoy the fantastic sounds of the Empire State Youth Orchestra and Chorale, to see fairy tale characters come to life in the aisles and on stage and hear the beautiful and emotional singing of Silent Night by our Melodies Singers, each one a patient of the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Albany Med.

Since its beginning in 1979, the founders and the huge crowds that come to see the Melodies of Christmas have helped raise more than $6.5 million to benefit the Melodies Center at Albany Med.

The 2014 Melodies of Christmas was highlighted once again by the Melodies Singers, all Melodies Center patients, singing Silent Night.

Our hosts (from left) - Greg Floyd and Liz Bishop of CBS 6, Jerry Golub from Price Chopper and Bill Sullivan from Freihofer's Baking Company.
