Our Mission
Students Care for Kids is a program designed to engage area student organizations in fundraising projects to support patients and their families at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. This program educates and enriches the lives of students by encouraging them to become involved in philanthropy at an early age. By planning and implementing creative fundraising activities, Students Care for Kids participants can directly enhance the lives of our region’s youngest patients.

Quick Facts:

  • The Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Med is our region’s only children’s hospital. Every year more than 50,000 sick and injured children are treated as outpatients and more than 7,000 as inpatients.
  • Our children’s hospital is the referral center for all critically ill and injured children in the 25 counties we serve. We have the region’s highest level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the only childhood cancer program.
  • From 2010-2013, with the help of 41 area clubs and organizations, Students Cares for Kids raised a total of $48,372 for the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Med!
