Robust Critical Care Education

The Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program is designed to train fellows in the management of critically sick surgical patients in a team-based environment.

The critical care fellowship helped me tremendously as a surgical resident and allowed me to secure a cardiac surgery fellowship at Pittsburgh. The knowledge and skill I acquired have been enhanced my ability to manage sick patients, especially those in severe respiratory and renal failure. I attribute this to the comprehensive and diverse training I received, especially the combination of inside and outside rotations.”

I chose the program for its wide range of pathology and its unique patient population of urban, suburban and rural trauma and critical care needs. I was also impressed by the faculty and their engaging and challenging teaching style.”
