Albany Medical Center and Aetna Reach Agreement
ALBANY, N.Y., October 15, 2013 – Aetna (NYSE: AET) and the Albany Medical Center today announced a new agreement that will return the medical center, its outpatient facilities and clinical staff to Aetna’s upstate New York network. “Aetna is delighted to share the news that we have reached mutually agreeable terms with Albany Medical Center,” said Dan DeLucia, Aetna network vice president for upstate New York. “It’s unquestionably a win for both parties. Even better, it is a win for our members who seek care at Albany Medical Center, and for their employers and other plan sponsors.”
“We are very pleased to announce an agreement that helps better meet the needs of the many individuals and families in our region insured by Aetna who rely on and choose Albany Medical Center for their medical care,” said James J. Barba, Albany Medical Center president and CEO. “We look forward to working collaboratively with Aetna to provide the best health care in the region.”
