Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon Joins Albany Medical Center
ALBANY, N.Y. June 11, 2014 – Prerana Patel, M.D., the only fellowship-trained pediatric orthopaedic surgeon in the Capital Region, has joined Albany Medical Center’s Department of Surgery.
Dr. Patel specializes in pediatric musculoskeletal care, including treatment of pediatric and adolescent scoliosis and kyphosis. She provides pediatric sports medicine and trauma care, treatment for disorders of limb alignment and rotation in growing patients, clubfeet and pediatric foot disorders, pediatric hip problems, including hip dysplasia, as well as treatment for general pediatric orthopaedic conditions.
A graduate of the Duke University School of Medicine, Dr. Patel is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery. She completed her residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, and fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery and Scoliosis at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.
Dr. Patel is now seeing patients in Albany at Capital Region Orthopaedics, as well as in Malta -- within the same building that houses Albany Med’s Malta Med Emergent Care facility. She performs surgery at Albany Medical Center.
