New Scotland Avenue Lane Closures in Front of Albany Med May 13-24
ALBANY, N.Y., May 10, 2013 — New Scotland Avenue between Holland and Myrtle Avenues in front of Albany Medical Center will be reduced to one lane Monday, May 13 through Wednesday, May 15 and again Friday, May 17 through Friday, May 24 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for work on the final phases of the new pedestrian bridge that will link parking to Albany Med’s new Patient Pavilion.
Flagmen will be on-site to maintain two-way traffic and access to Albany Medical Center’s parking garage at 60 New Scotland Ave. Drivers are urged to avoid traveling this route if at all possible while construction is underway.
Albany Med’s $360 million expansion project is aimed at meeting the community’s growing health care needs. The Patient Pavilion, the centerpiece of the renaissance along New Scotland Avenue, will be completed later this year and will include expanded adult and neonatal intensive care units as well as new operating and recovery rooms.
