With the recent offi cial opening of Malta Med Emergent Care, Albany Medical Center’s
physicians became even more available to the residents of southern Saratoga County.
Physicians from our Emergency Department now see patients 24/7; the new facility at Exit 12 of the Northway allows for expanded hours to provide care for all but the most serious medical circumstances.
Members of the Albany Med Faculty Physicians group already see patients by appointment at two southern Saratoga locations — on Route 9 in Malta, and in Clifton Park — and will occupy space on the second fl oor at Malta Med.
Located just west of Northway Exit 12 across from the Hyatt at 6 Medical Park Drive, the new facility is situated on a former horse farm in the heart of the fastest-growing region in the state.
“Working in partnership, our two hospitals are able to make the highest-quality medical services in the region more accessible to more of our residents,” Albany Med President Jim Barba said. “The unique center is an important addition that will help continue to make southern Saratoga County attractive to businesses and families.”
Malta Med off ers state-of-the-art facilities, diagnostic imaging — including MRI, CT, X-ray and ultrasound — and a helipad and ambulance bays for fast transit for those
requiring hospital-based care.
“Malta Med represents a smarter, better way of meeting our community’s health care needs,” said Saratoga Hospital President and CEO Angelo Calbone. “This new facility draws on the strengths of two complementary organizations to provide convenient, around-the-clock access to a level of care previously unavailable in the Saratoga region.”
The emergent care facilities occupy the first floor of the building whose architecture is appropriate for the setting and inviting to patients while meeting the highest medical standards and offering advanced technologies. To facilitate follow-up care when needed, the second floor houses offices for physicians employed by Albany Med or Saratoga Hospital, or based in the community such as the first tenants, Capital Region Orthopaedics, an Albany Med affiliate.
