Albany Medical Center
The Albany Medical Center Hospital is a 631 bed, level 1 Trauma Center serving northeastern New York and western New England. The total population covered by Albany Medical Center exceeds 3 million people. It is the only academic health sciences center in northeastern New York. While at Albany Medical Center, residents are exposed to trauma, spine, and hand surgery. Albany Medical Center has just started a minimally invasive spine surgery program, only offered by a handful of programs across the country.
Stratton Veterans Administration Medical Center
The Albany Veteran's Medical Center is a 634 bed hospital offering opportunities in general orthopaedics with an emphasis on adult reconstructive surgery. Residents participate extensively in outpatient clinics.
Ellis Hospital is a 352 bed, level II trauma center located approximately 20 miles from Albany. Experiences at Ellis include sports medicine, pediatric orthopaedics and general orthopaedics. Residents participate in a weekly outpatient clinic and also spend time seeing outpatients in the attendings' offices. Sunnyview Hospital, adjacent to Ellis Hospital, provides orthopaedic residents with an opportunity to follow their operative patients during inpatient rehabilitation.
Shriner's Hospital for Children
The Shriner's Hospital in Springfield, Mass is a major referral center for a wide variety of pediatric orthopaedic problems and provides both outpatient clinic and advanced operative opportunities in pediatric orthopaedics.
St. Peter's Hospital
St. Peter's Hospital is a 400 bed community hospital which offers opportunities in general orthopaedics as well as orthopaedic subspecialties such as joint replacement.
