Nearly 30 Albany Med-affiliated physicians and nurses contributed editorial content to the second edition of Primary Care of Neurological Disorders, a textbook intended as a liaison between primary care providers and neurological specialists. Dr. A. John Popp served as editor-in-chief.

CARDIAC TEAM #1 IN STATE
Albany Medical Center’s cardiac surgical team outperformed every team in New York State by posting the lowest mortality for a three-year period (2003-2005) in the category that combines heart valve surgeries and coronary artery bypass surgeries involving
valve procedures, according to the state Department of Health.

Albany Medical Center was once again awarded the Primary Stroke Center Certification from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO), and earns the organization’s Gold Seal of Approval for being a JCAHO accredited institution with an advanced certification in stroke care.
