Endocrine Surgeon Dr. Carrie Carsello Joins Staff
ALBANY, N.Y., August 28, 2012—Carrie B. Carsello, M.D., an endocrine surgeon, has joined Albany Medical Center and has been appointed assistant professor of surgery in the division of general surgery at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Carsello specializes in surgery for benign and malignant diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. She performs thyroidectomies and applies the most advanced techniques to the successful treatment of thyroid cancer. She also performs minimally invasive parathyroidectomies, and offers patients ultrasound diagnostics and procedures for better outcomes, faster recovery and less scarring.
Dr. Carsello completed her fellowship training in endocrine surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and conducted her residency at Albany Medical Center. She received her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She is active in national organizations, including the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the Association of Women Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the Association of Academic Surgeons.
Dr. Carsello lives in Delmar, N.Y., with her husband Jeff Carsello, M.D., and their two daughters.
