Kim Fine Named Executive Vice President of Albany Medical Center
ALBANY, N.Y., July 8, 2013 – Albany Medical Center has named an executive vice president to guide policy, planning and communications, three disciplines Albany Med President and CEO James J. Barba calls increasingly critical to the future of the region’s only academic health sciences center.
Mr. Barba announced today that Kim Fine, who joined Albany Med in 2008 as senior vice president, has been elevated to the role of executive vice president, serving alongside five other executives, including the Center’s chief operating officer, chief financial officer, chief information officer, the head of Albany Medical Center Hospital and the dean of Albany Medical College. She leads the team responsible for developing policy and managing strategic planning for the Medical Center as well as its marketing, government relations, public relations and community development.

Prior to joining Albany Med, Ms. Fine served as a deputy director of the New York State Division of the Budget. Previously she served with great distinction in the Office of the State Comptroller, including as deputy comptroller for Budget and Policy Analysis. Earlier in her career, she was director of government and community relations for the Center for Disability Services. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science and communications from New York University and began her career as a press assistant to former Gov. Mario Cuomo in the New York State Executive Chamber.
She is a graduate of New York University and resides in Clifton Park with her husband and two children.
