Albany Med is now a presence in Schenectady County.
In July, Albany Med announced the first location of offices in Schenectady County as part of an ongoing initiative to make the expertise of Albany Med more accessible to residents throughout the region.
“The growth we’ve experienced over the past year has helped connect thousands of people to Albany Med’s advanced model of care and allowed us to serve people at locations that are more convenient to more people than ever before,” said Ferdinand Venditti, MD, vice dean for clinical affairs at Albany Medical Center and head of the Albany Med Faculty Physicians Group.
“We’re excited about the warm welcome we’ve received in Schenectady County and the opportunity for our team to welcome new patients,” he said, adding that the new locations allow Albany Med to provide rapid and convenient access to the full range of specialty services.
The new offices:
The Albany Med Community Division of Gastroenterology
Formerly Digestive Disease Associates of Schenectady, this thriving practice has nearly 10,000 patients and will continue to treat patients in Clifton Park, Schenectady and Guilderland locations. “As part of Albany Med, we know that we will be working with an organization that is respected throughout this region and beyond,” said James Litynski, MD, who is joining the Albany Med Faculty Physicians Group. Also joining Albany Med are Peter Purcell, MD, Zainul Syed, MD, and Jill Hoffman, RPA.
Albany Med EmUrgentCare
This urgent care practice joined Albany Med last year and opened its third location in the region at the newly built Socha Plaza on Route 50 in Glenville. The 4,000-square-foot office will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day of the year, with emergency-trained physicians treating all types of ailments and injuries. “Our collaboration with Albany Med allows us to continue to provide the highest quality urgent care services, while also providing our patients with the comfort of knowing that we are partnering with the finest team of physicians and caregivers in the region to handle any type of emerging condition,” said Stephen Hassett, MD, medical director of EmUrgentCare.
In addition to the offices in Schenectady, just in the last year, Albany Med has opened offices in Warren, Saratoga, Columbia and Ulster counties.
