Jessica Mills, MD, has joined the Department of Surgery and has been appointed assistant professor of surgery in the division of pediatric surgery at Albany Medical College.
Board-certified in pediatric surgery, Dr. Mills received fellowship training in pediatric surgery at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She also served a residency in general surgery while at UBC. She has a particular interest in using minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat pulmonary and abdominal conditions,
including congenital anomalies and infectious conditions. Her practice also includes management of head and neck conditions such as thyroid and parathyroid diseases and thyroglossal duct cysts as well as correction of hernias and undescended testicles.
Carlos Pinheiro-Neto, MD, PhD, joined the Division of Otolaryngology and has been appointed assistant professor of surgery.
Dr. Pinheiro-Neto recently served as an attending surgeon for the facial trauma service in the department of otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He received a Post-Graduation in Science (PhD) from the University of Sao Paulo, and received his medical degree from the Federal University of Ceara, Brazil. He specializes in minimally invasive and endoscopic approaches to treat skull-base disorders, including pituitary tumors and cancers. He also specializes in the treatment of chronic sinusitis, rhinitis, nasal polyps, septal deviation, nosebleeds and facial trauma and fractures.
