Children's Hospital & Pediatrics

The Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital is the region's only children's hospital.

Established in 1986, The Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital has 125-beds devoted exclusively to the medical needs of infants, children, and adolescents. It is staffed by more than 140 physicians trained in 40 subspecialties, and more than 400 pediatric nurses, therapists, social workers, child-life specialists, and more.

  • Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region
    • Since 1982, the Ronald McDonald House, around the corner from the hospital, has served as a "home-away-from-home" for families of children receiving treatment at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital.  There is also the Ronald McDonald Family Room and Family Suite just steps away from the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units.  The Family Room provides a warm, comforting space for families to grab a cup of coffee or a snack, or to watch television, play a game, and relax.
  • Make-A-Wish Northeast New York
    • Since its founding in 1987, Make-A-Wish Northeast New York has been granting wishes of all eligible children ages 2.5 to 18 with a critical illness. The organization works closely with the children's hospital physicians, nurses, social workers, and child life specialists, and the chapter has a regular presence at Albany Medical Center and its clinics.
  • Children's Miracle Network
    • Children's Miracle Network Hospitals raise funds for 170 children's hospitals that support the health of 10 million kids each year across the U.S. and Canada. Donations go to local hospitals to fund critical life-saving treatments and health care services, along with innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, child life services and financial assistance for families.
