For three decades Albany Medical Center has provided state of the art HIV care to HIV exposed infants, and children and adolescents living with HIV through age 24. A highly experienced team including HIV specialists, registered nurses, social worker, psychiatrist, and case manager work closely with patients, families and community providers to prevent mother to child transmission of HIV and to promote physical and emotional wellness for those living with HIV.
Funded through the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute as Specialized Care Center for Adolescents and Young Adults, services are available to youth ages 13-24 years including prevention services and management of HIV infection. The Maternal Child Coordinated Care Program offers medical follow up for HIV exposed infants and children living with HIV up to age 12 years old.
