The Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient consultations for children with genetic or metabolic diseases.
We provide genetic services to children and families in northeastern New York, especially in underserved areas. Our physicians evaluate children and their families for the possibility of genetic and metabolic conditions.
We also see patients at the Lions Eye Institute in Slingerlands for children who need evaluations for the genetic causes of craniofacial anomalies. Genetic counseling is provided at the Craniofacial Clinic and the Cystic Fibrosis clinics, and individuals with Sickle Cell disease or other diagnosed genetic conditions are also given counseling as needed.
