The Minimally Invasive Surgery Program at Albany Medical Center uses "tubular" devices that are inserted into the body to perform surgery. Advantages for using minimally invasive surgery for such procedures includes less scarring; less trauma; quicker recovery time for patient; and shorter length of stay within hospital.
