Endovascular Neurosurgery

Conditions

Endovascular surgery is needed for conditions that usually occur when blood vessels are clogged or weakened and damage the valves that control blood flow in and out of the veins. When this occurs, it results in the loss of  vital blood nutrients and oxygen. Common factors which influence the development of these conditions include aging, smoking, prolonged periods of being physically inactive, or if you have a family history of vascular disease.

At Albany Med, our experts tackle a variety of conditions treated by endovascular neurosurgery, including:

  • Cerebral Aneurysms
  • Arteriovenous Malformations or Fistula
