Highly regarded as one of the best and busiest colorectal surgery practices in the Capital Region, Albany Medical Center’s Colon and Rectal Surgery Program, led by Dr. Edward Lee, is often considered the place to turn to for patients requiring colorectal surgery.

Dr. Lee, whose extraordinary skills and sensitive bedside manner make him one of the most talented colorectal surgeons in this area, performs more than 300 procedures. Together with his colleagues, general and colorectal surgeons Drs. Brian Valerian and Jonathan Canete, the team is known for their expertise in caring for the simple to most complex and uncommon colorectal disorders.

Through collaboration with the Digestive Disease Center at Albany Med and team of gastroenterologists and medical oncologists, our colon and rectal surgery program provides a multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of benign and malignant disorders of the colon and rectum.
