Telemedicine Education
Telemedicine Case Conferencing:
AMCAP coordinates monthly, CME-accredited case conferencing programs for correctional clinicians within alternating regions of NYS. Clinicians are asked to bring specific patient cases to present and discuss with an HIV specialist from AMCAP. Due to the geographic isolation of most NYS correctional facilities, telemedicine is an effective modality to reach these clinicians with the most up-to-date HIV treatment information. Using this technology, clinicians throughout the state can directly communicate and interact with AMCAP's HIV specialists to structure individualized treatment plans for their patients.

Pharmacist Education via Telemedicine:
In collaboration with the Director of Central Pharmacy at NYSDOCS, AMCAP coordinates quarterly, statewide education programs for pharmacists via Telemedicine. Each program creates a foundation in which to introduce the next topic in the program series. Programs in this series include:
- Antiretroviral (ART) Overview & Update
- Drug-to-Drug Interaction Discussion
- ART Adherence Overview
- ART Sequencing
- Medication Errors
Individual programs are facilitated by a PharmD who incorporates case discussions into each presentation.
Nursing Education via Telemedicine:
AMCAP implements HIV education programs for nurses on topics that they have prioritized in response to our annual statewide needs assessment. Topics that nurses recently prioritized include: adherence, overview of antiretroviral therapies, and drug-to-drug interactions. These programs are offered quarterly to nurses in alternating hubs throughout NYS.
