Specimen Collection: 7 mL blood (sodium heparin green or Yellow ACD top tube).
Draw Mon-Fri only, no later than 2 p.m. Deliver immediately to Special Chemistry. Collect control specimen from a healthy individual unrelated to patient. 
Minimum Volume: 7 mL 
Handling Instructions for Offsite Areas: Maintain whole blood at room temperature. Must reach referral lab within 48 hours of collection. Draw Mon-Fri only before 3 p.m. Must be collected and hand carried to the Special Chemistry Laboratory by 3 p.m. Min. 7.0 mL (adults), 3mL (peds) whole blood. Transport specimen at room temperature.. Draw a healthy, unrelated to patient, control sample.
