Specimen Collection: 2.7 mL blood (blue top tube). 
Minimum Volume: 1.8 mL 
Handling Instructions for Offsite Areas: Maintain at room temperature. If specimen cannot be transported within 2 hours, centrifuge at 3,000 rpm for 20 minutes. Using a plastic pipette, transfer plasma to plastic tube and freeze plasma. 
Reference Values: Reference range and cut off value: Age 18 years and above: Reference Range: <0.50 mg/L FEU. Result of <0.50 mg/L FEU may be used with a clinical history and other diagnostic tools to rule out DVT/PE.
