15th Annual Upstate New York Immunology Conference

The 15th Annual Upstate New York Immunology Conference (NYIC) will be held October 21-24, 2012 at The Sagamore Resort and Conference Center on the shores of Lake George in Bolton Landing, NY. The Sagamore is located approximately 80 miles north of Albany, NY.

The Conference will begin Sunday, October 21 mid-afternoon and conclude following lunch on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. All participants are encouraged to stay for the entire Conference.

In celebration of the Conference's 15th Anniversary, we have a number of exciting changes that include:

·         Two workshops on grant writing and funding provided by staff from NIAID

·         20 AAI Young Investigator Awards for $100 each sponsored by the American Association of Immunologists

·         Concurrent oral poster presentations in informal workshop settings

·         Return of the cruise on Lake George

·         An anniversary celebration with music and dancing

There will also be raffles for two Apple iPad 3 tablets (Wi-fi, 32GB). Only registered trainees will be eligible to win. Be sure to register for the meeting to be eligible for your name to be drawn!!

The Keynote Speakers for 2012 are Gail Bishop, Ph.D., Carver College of Medicine; Distinguished Professor of Microbiology and Internal Medicine; Director of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Immunology Program; Holden Chair of Cancer Biology (University of Iowa), and Ralph Budd, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Medicine; Director, Vermont Center for Immunology & Infectious Diseases (The University of Vermont College of Medicine).

We will ease into business by starting with dinner, a keynote talk, and a welcome reception on Sunday evening. Each morning there will be symposium talks by invited speakers. Lunch will be provided during the NIH Workshops. Trainees will be given an opportunity to present their research in afternoon sessions. Please check the Schedule of Events page for more information and updates.

The ongoing goal of this meeting is to foster collaborations and interactions among participants and their institutions, as well as provide opportunities for postdoctoral fellows and graduate students to present their research. Postdoctoral fellows and graduate students are also encouraged to submit poster abstracts and request consideration by the NYIC Scientific Advisory Board to give an oral presentation. Electronic submission is required for all abstracts by 5:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2012. (See

Electronic registration is required for all participants. Register as soon as possible to secure your accommodations as there are a limited number of rooms available. The registration fee includes three nights lodging, all meals, and Conference materials. Registration closes Friday, September 7, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
