Plastic Surgeon Ashit Patel Joins Albany Medical Center

ALBANY, N.Y., October 20, 2011-Ashit Patel, M.D., a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, has joined Albany Medical Center's department of surgery and has been appointed assistant professor of surgery at Albany Medical College. Dr. Patel specializes in a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures for adults and children.

Dr. Patel has expertise in all cosmetic procedures with a particular interest in breast augmentation and body contouring after major weight loss. For reconstructive procedures, he specializes in post-trauma, post-mastectomy, post-surgical and burn reconstructive surgery, as well as the surgical correction of congenital deformities.

Dr. Patel received his medical degree from the University of Dundee Medical School in Scotland. He completed a general surgery residency at St. Elizabeth's Medical School in Boston, where he served as chief resident, and a plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Patel is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
