ALBANY, N.Y., August 30, 2012- Boris Medarov, M.D., a specialist in pulmonary hypertension, has joined Albany Medical Center and has been appointed assistant professor of medicine at Albany Medical College.

Dr. Medarov provides patients with comprehensive diagnostic procedures and ongoing treatment for pulmonary hypertension, a serious lung condition that is becoming more frequently recognized. In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Medarov will conduct research on new treatments for pulmonary hypertension.

Dr. Medarov most recently served as assistant professor of medicine at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles where he was also co-director of the Sleep Disorders Center. Previously he practiced at the Department of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT.

He completed his pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New Hyde Park, NY. He completed his residency in internal medicine at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn.

Board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine, Dr. Medarov has authored many articles, abstracts and book chapters on pulmonary topics and presented as an invited lecturer at numerous medical conferences. He graduated Summa cum Laude from Semmelweis University School of Medicine in Budapest, Hungary. He resides with his family in Voorheesville.
