Radiothon Raises More than Half a Million Dollars for Children’s Hospital

ALBANY, N.Y., May 10, 2012-It was a record setting run for the 2012 edition of the Radiothon to benefit the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center. The two-day event set a new mark by raising $564,022, an increase of more than 17 percent from 2011.
The 14th annual Radiothon aired May 3-4 on News Talk 810 and 103.1 WGY and 99.5 The River.
"The Children's Hospital offers vital services that, in many cases, are unique to our region," said David A. Clark, M.D., director of the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center. The 2012 edition of Radiothon was presented by Price Chopper, Freihofer's and Keeler Motor Car and was supported by nearly 180 volunteers.
The Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center is a 125-bed facility devoted exclusively to the medical needs of infants, children and adolescents, and is the referral center for all seriously ill and injured children from 25 counties in upstate New York and western New England. It is staffed by 110 physicians trained in 34 subspecialties and more than 300 pediatric nurses, therapists, social workers and child-life specialists.
