ALBANY, N.Y., May 5, 2014 ‹ It was another record-setting year for the 16th annual Radiothon to benefit the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, as the two-day event raised $648,493.

"The consistent generosity the people of our region show to the Children's Hospital at Albany Med is amazing," said David A. Clark, M.D., director of the Children's Hospital. "Setting another record once again indicates the value that our community sees in the Children's Hospital, its' doctors, nurses and staff. We are thankful for that continued support as well as that of our media partners at Clear Channel Media."

The Radiothon, which aired May 1-2 on 810 and 103.1 WGY and 99.5 The River, was supported by lead sponsors Price Chopper, Freihofer's, Dunkin Donuts, Keeler Motor Car Company and  Quick Response Restoration, and involved more than 120 volunteers. All money raised will be used to purchase new equipment, as well as support programs and services. There are more than 50,000 visits to the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center each year.

"This is the 16th year that Clear Channel Albany has teamed up with the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center for the Cares for Kids Radiothon. During this two-day annual event, WGY and the River offer its airwaves to share inspirational stories of local children and families treated at the hospital  -- we thank our generous listeners for responding and for another record-setting year," said Kristen Delaney, V.P./Regional Market Manager for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Albany."
