Special Grand Rounds Presentation on Cell Behavior and Disease

Esteemed cell biologist Alexander Varshavsky, Ph.D., will present a fascinating insight into how cell behavior impacts cancer, autoimmune disorders and other diseases during a special Albany Prize Grand Rounds lecture at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21 in ME-700 at Albany Medical College.

Dr. Varshavsky, the 2014 recipient of the Albany Medical Center Prize in Medicine and Biomedical Research and a professor at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), will discuss his early discoveries related to the biology of the ubiquitin system and share his current projects whose end-goal is to eradicate common, chronic and deadly diseases. A question-and-answer period will follow his presentation.
