More than 15 percent of children are obese, and another 15 percent are overweight. Dr. Watson takes a subtle approach to the problem, and works with families to take small steps to improve their children's health. "Every little bit of exercise, or every little bit of additional fruits and vegetables you can add to a child's diet, adds up," she says. Dr. Watson works to empower her patients with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions. She finds this approach makes patients and families more comfortable asking questions and finding their way on the road to better health.
Dr. Watson sees pediatric patients from birth through adolescence. In addition to obesity management, she also has a special interest in sports medicine and working with patients to achieve their athletic goals safely and successfully. After receiving her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, Dr. Watson completed her pediatric residency at Albany Medical Center where she served as chief resident. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
