Planned Giving - Bequests
Estate gifts may be made through a will or trust. Both vehicles enable assets to be distributed to individuals and nonprofit organizations in the amounts or proportions indicated by the donor.
Bequests have always played an important role in supporting Albany Med. For many donors, gifts made through their wills are the best way to make substantial contributions to the Medical Center or the College. Donors may leave specific dollar amounts or a percentage of their estates to Albany Med. Through a bequest you can:
- Make a substantial gift upon your death while retaining your assets during your lifetime.
- Eliminate or reduce federal estate taxes.
- Designate your gift to an area of special interest.
Albany Med can provide you with specific language that will aid your attorney in drawing up a bequest to Albany Medical Center. Sample Bequest Language
The Albany Medical Center’s office of Gift Planning will gladly assist donors and their attorneys in creating a bequest to the college or hospital. If you would like to notify Albany Med of your intentions, please complete our Estate Intention Form and mail to:
