Lifeline: The Campaign for Albany Medical Center

Generous Donors Help Albany Med Care, Educate and Discover

Albany Med grew in many ways during 2013, including the opening of the 325,000-square-foot Patient Pavilion.

The generosity of our donors has allowed us to continue to grow – growth necessitated by our communities’ need for world-class, compassionate, patient-centered care.

The generosity of donors to the Lifeline Campaign is assisting Albany Med in achieving its mission to care, educate and discover.
Lifeline: The Campaign for Albany Medical Center has already met with tremendous enthusiasm. Shortly after the first of 2014, we reached $110 million thanks to individuals, community and business leaders, corporations, foundations and alumni, and we are now nearing our current goal of $125 million!

"The success we have enjoyed to date speaks to the connection people from all walks of life have with Albany Medical Center,” said John J. Nigro, area business leader and campaign chairman.

Gifts to the Lifeline Campaign support our missions to care, educate and discover. They support students at Albany Medical College who are eager to make a difference in the world. They support ground-breaking research efforts to find a cure or an innovative treatment for diseases of all kinds.

Community fundraisers, such as the Freihofer's Junior 3K run, helped Albany Med in many ways in 2013.

They support our new Patient Pavilion and new technologies throughout our hospital, where doctors, nurses and staff provide our patients with expert medical care.

Gifts to Albany Med come from so many directions. We have been touched, and buoyed, by children helping other children by forgoing birthday gifts in favor of a donation to the Children’s Hospital or by holding bake sales or car washes to benefit our Radiothon. We watch as members of our community  plan softball games and family-fun style fundraisers and take part in our seasonal events such as“Dancing in the Woods” and “Light Up the Night.”

Light Up the Night. a mid-summer staple of the Saratoga social scene, raises needed funds for Albany Med's Department of Emergency Medicine.
Or perhaps you supported Albany Med with a simple click. Many of you visited www.amc.edu/give to make a gift, start a personal giving page or register for one of our events. While doing that, you likely saw one of our patient stories which shows how, through your generosity, lives are changed here each and every day.

To our community, we offer our sincere thanks. Your belief and support in our missions allow us to continue being the lifeline our region needs – and has come to expect.
