Melodies of Christmas


Energetic conductor Helen Cha-Pyo leads the Empire State Youth Orchestra at the 33rd Melodies of Christmas.

A huge thank you to the Capital Region for once again supporting the Melodies of Christmas.  Large, appreciative crowds heard the fantastic sounds of the Empire State Youth Orchestra and Chorale, saw fairy tale characters come to life in the aisles and on stage at Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady and heard the heartwarming and emotional singing of Silent Night by our Melodies Singers, each one a patient of the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Albany Med.

Thanks to the generosity of our partners Freihofers, Price Chopper and CBS 6 News, the funds raised from these performances go directly to support the Melodies Center.

Since its beginning in 1979, the Melodies of Christmas has raised more than $6.5 million to benefit the Melodies Center at Albany Med.
