Saratoga Hospital and Albany Medical Center have formed a unique partnership to offer high-end urgent care in Malta. A joint venture of the two hospitals, Malta Med Emergent Care provides area residents an alternative to hospital emergency rooms for all but the most serious medical circumstances.
The center is located at 6 Medical Park Drive, just west of Northway (I-87) Exit 12 and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by Albany Med's emergency medicine physicians and Saratoga Hospital staff.
Malta Med occupies the first floor of the two-story, 60,000-square-foot building. The second floor will house medical offices for primary care and speciality physicians to help patients access follow-up care when needed.
Details of the new facility include:
- Urgent and higher-level care staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and residents from Albany Med
- Electronic, real-time specialty consultation with specialists at Albany Med and Saratoga Hospital
- Diagnostic imaging, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), X-ray and ultrasound
- Lab services
- Helipad
- Physician offices for Saratoga Hospital and Albany Medical Center staff
