Radiology Case #1 - A 57-year-old man with recently diagnosed and excised squamous cell cancer of the pharynx

BRIEF CLINICAL BACKBROUND

57 year old man veteran with a history of recently diagnosed and excised squamous cell cancer of the pharynx six months ago, presents with worsening shortness of breath and worsening left sided head and neck pain of same duration. On physical examination, he was sitting in a "tripod" position leaning over a receptacle with copious oral secretions and audible stridor. He is afebrile and has a WBC of 2,600. He received radiation therapy to the neck for his cancer.
